Download this free printable Declutter Your Home Checklist for 101 things to get rid of from your messy house. Get rid of all the clutter once and for all.
Do you feel like your house is bursting at the seams?
There’s stuff everywhere you look overflowing out of drawers, cupboards and falling off shelves.
Getting rid of some of those things will give your house new life. You’ll make room for the items you actually use and love.
I can already hear those objections rapidly firing off in your head.
If you need something later, you can always borrow or buy it.
If you do lose weight and can fit into those clothes you’ve been holding on to for the past few years, you’ll be thrilled to run out and buy a new wardrobe.
And, if you didn’t even realize you still had that thing you found in a back of a drawer somewhere, I promise you won’t miss it when you get rid of it.
Ignore the little voice that’s full of excuses why you shouldn’t get rid of stuff. That little voice has been keeping you living in a house that’s too full and overwhelming. It’s time to change all of that.
Here’s a list of 101 items you can donate or throw away. You may find asking yourself these 10 questions really helpful as you go through this process.
And no, you don’t have to do this all in one day or weekend. This probably will take a few weeks or even months, if you go through each room in your house slowly. Put it on your schedule to make sure you get to it. You can do this!
There’s a printable version of this declutter checklist at the end of this post, plus some tips you’ll find helpful.

Steps to Declutter With This Checklist
- Download the free checklist and print it out. As you declutter your home, tick off each item on the list. This will give you a sense of accomplishment as you see the progress you’re making.
- Use the printable to make a note of items you need to purchase. For example, if your socks are full of holes and you throw them away, write down that you need to buy more.
- Gather all the items from one category. This will make it easier to go through everything. So, get all the towels from separate bathroom and go through them at once.
- Be ruthless as you purge. If you haven’t used it in a long time, didn’t even remember you had it, don’t like it anymore or it doesn’t fit your body or style, get rid of it!
- When putting items back in place, group them by category. For example, store all your stationery in one place instead of scattered around the house.
Getting rid of clutter is such a freeing experience. You’ll be glad you did it.
