Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
These Mother’s Day gift ideas are not solely for your own mother but could also be for a close friend, who is a mother, or a mother-figure. Mothers can come in different shapes and forms so my ideas cover a range of people.
Here are my list of gift ideas…
A Day Off
Being a mother is a TOUGH job! It’s one that’s often thankless, with no pay, vacation or sick days. Yet, just thinking about taking some time off for herself usually riddles most mothers with guilt. So give them the helping hand they need to have a rest day.
Take care of the babysitting, whether you do it yourself or arrange for someone else to watch the kids, and send that special mom out for a day to kick back, relax and relieve their stress. You can take this one step further by handing her a gift card for a Starbucks coffee, money off from a bookstore or a craft store.
Adult Colouring Book
An adult colouring book may seem like an unusual Mother’s Day gift idea and it is! But you know what? They are hugely popular. If the mother you’re buying a gift for has an artistic flair or a crafty side, they will probably love receiving one of these. (I certainly would!)
Colouring books allow you to express your creativity and get in touch with your inner child. Wrap the book up with a box of pencil crayons and you are good to go. The mother can enjoy the book alone or even have a colouring session with their kids, if they have younger children.
Flora
A plant is a good Mother’s Day gift idea if the woman you are giving it to loves greenery. Instead of sending flowers that will just wilt and die, a plant can survive a long time and constantly bring joy to the recipient. Just make sure you select a plant that is easy to care for and consider the size of the fully grown plant. Don’t purchase one that will grow huge especially if the home it’s going to is on the smaller side.
Show Her A Good Time
Take time out of your busy schedule and dedicate it to spending time with your mother. Take her to a place she loves visiting and have an awesome time creating new memories. These experiences often mean more than any gift you could buy.
Home-cooked goods
Cook the mom a nice meal or make her a sweet treat. Nothing says “I care about you” more than taking the time out to do something for someone else. Plus her stomach will be happy too!

One day out of each year, we take the time to celebrate those hard-working and seemingly unappreciated women with kids.
