1. Use A Stackable Drawer Organizer

One genius way to take advantage of the depth of a drawer is to use a stackable kitchen drawer organizer.

These allow you to see exactly what’s inside while maintaining easy access to everything. If the item you’re looking for isn’t on the first level, simply lift or slide the top organizer out of the way to reach the second one.

This could be a great solution for the organization of your junk drawer.

Be careful with this method of organization, though. Make sure you only have to move one item to reach another. The more stuff you have to touch, the less likely it is that you’ll ever try to access things underneath or put them back properly.

Store frequently used items on the top-level and rarely used things on the bottom.

2. Add Kitchen Drawer Dividers

Separate items inside deep drawers using kitchen drawer dividers. Having individual compartments will help you to organize easier.

Try lining the bottom with a non-skid liner to prevent things from sliding around as you open and close the drawer.

3. Buy Tall Containers

Measure the depth of your kitchen drawers and purchase tall rectangular or square containers that will fit inside. This can be a great way to store dry ingredients like pasta, rice and cereals.

Label the top of each container so you know exactly what the contents are without having to pull each one out.

You can even get kitchen drawer inserts or use tall bins to store bottles of oils, water etc.

4. Store Bulky Items

Deep kitchen drawer storage is the perfect place to keep pots and pans. These are often difficult to store inside kitchen cabinets as it’s hard to reach one without having to pull out a few others first. Having them in a drawer means you can grab just what you need.

Stack the lid right on top of the saucepan so they never get lost.

You can even place large appliances inside the drawer with all the attachments. This would be a good idea for something like a stand mixer.

5. Create a Storage Area for Your Plates and Dishes

In the same way that you can store saucepans in a deep kitchen drawer organizer, you can also store dishware.

Kitchen drawer inserts for plates, such as a peg organizer is a genius solution for this. You’ll definitely want to prevent your dishes from moving as you open and close the drawer. These organizers will keep them securely in place.

6. Store Glasses and Mugs

Place glasses and mugs inside a large kitchen drawer.

This is good way to create something like a tea or coffee station as well. Just select a drawer near to your coffee maker and stash mugs, tea bags, coffee, spoons and anything else you might need inside.

7. Store Utensils Upright In A Drawer

Ignore conventional storage ideas with this rather unique one. Store cooking utensils upright in deep kitchen drawer storage containers.

Here’s a DIY utensil drawer organizer tutorial.

Knowing what to store in deep kitchen drawers is half the battle, the other half is figuring out how to organize them properly so you actually maximize the space. These handy deep kitchen drawer organizer ideas should be a big help.
