There are many advantages to having an organized kitchen. Want to know what they are? Here are five benefits of organizing your kitchen.
Sometimes, we don’t realize just how much an organized home impacts on our lives. Today, I’m going to talk about one room in particular—the kitchen.
We spend so much time in the kitchen. It’s where your family gathers to cook and eat, do homework, pay bills and make crafty creations. Since so many different activities occur in this one area, and it’s so frequently used, the kitchen can get messy in a hurry.
Here are five benefits of an organized kitchen that just might motivate you to start decluttering right away.

1. Saves Time
How many times have you started cooking and then had to stop because you couldn’t find a utensil or an ingredient? You know it’s there but where it is?!
Just think about how much time you waste whenever stop and hunt for something you need. This is frustrating to say the least and could so easily be avoided if you had an organized kitchen.
Create zones for prepping, cooking and cleaning up so that everything you need for a specific task is nearby and easy to find. This will definitely help you save time in the kitchen.
2. Less Stress
I hate coming home at the end of a long day and having to decide what to cook for dinner. This is why meal planning each week has become so important. It saves me from that stress.
Collect recipes to help you when you’re meal planning. I like to keep a separate Pinterest Board for recipes I want to try. After I have tried them, I print them and add them to my binder, if they were good. Then, I remove those recipes from the Pinterest board.
Store all of your cookbooks together and combine individual recipes in a binder. Place the cookbooks and recipe binder in the kitchen. As you’re cooking, it will be easy to take out a recipe and refer to it.
3. Saves Money
Did you know an organized kitchen saves you money?
When your kitchen is tidy and you know exactly where everything is, you won’t buy duplicates of items you already own. I’m not just talking about utensils or gadgets; this also includes food.
It’s easy to forget what you have in your pantry and freezer. When this happens, you end up buying more and stockpiling items you have at home or you ultimately throw away food that was never used because you didn’t realize it was there.
Organize utensils and gadgets so they’re easily accessible. Create an inventory for both the pantry and freezer so you know exactly what you have and the expiration dates. It’s much easier to keep track of food this way.
Also, stick to the First-In, First-Out rule where you use up old food before newer items. Rotate old products to the front of your pantry and fridge/ freezer after grocery shopping so you grab those things first.
4. Easier To Clean
Cluttered countertops and a refrigerator that’s overflowing with food and containers, are really difficult to clean. It’s much easier to wipe surfaces down in an organized kitchen.
5. You’ll Cook More
I think the best benefit of having an organized kitchen is you’ll actually want to get in there and cook. A tidy and clean kitchen is inviting and encourages you to use it.
When you cook often, you’ll enjoy more nutritious and cheaper meals than ones you would buy. So, not only will you eat food that’s better for you, you will also save money.
Have I convinced you about the rewards for having an organized kitchen yet? It doesn’t matter if you have a tiny kitchen or a large one, they all benefit from good organization systems.
